With an aim to unite the Northern and Southern statesof India for the greater integration of the nation,Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation wanted the Southern Indians to have a Hindi campaign. So, in 1928, he stated the Dakshina Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha and till 1947, he was the president of the Sabha.
