Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute

 Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute (Deemed University) constitutes of two colleges, namely; Dr. M.G.R. Engineering College, established in 1088 and Thai Moogambiagai Dental College, started in 1991.

Deemed University status has been given to Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute by the Ministry of Human Resource Development and University Grants Commission.

Today, the University has three main Faculties - Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Faculty of Medicine and Dental Sciences and Faculty of Humanities and Sciences. The varsity through its constituent colleges offers various academic and research programs in these faculties.   

Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute also strives to make education a National and International subject by starting many off-campus and off-shore study centers. The admission requirements are the same as that of the full time courses except that the eligibility will be a pass in the qualifying diploma. Candidates with work experience will be given preference.

The admission to Part Time B.E., courses direct to the II year is intended exclusively for the Diploma Holders. Plus 2 Candiates are not admitted to part time courses”



The timings for the classes is usually from 5.30 –- 8.30 p.m in the evening. Attendance is compulsory with minimum of 75% for a subject.
