Eligibility criteria of Ph.D programme 2012 in NIT Trichy
Candidates should have atleast Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Engineering / Technology in the appropriate branches mentioned above.
All the candidates should have minimum 60% marks (CGPA 6.5/10) in Undergradudate programme and Postgraduate programme for OC / OBC category
55% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA of 6.0 is the eligibility requirement for SC/ST candidates.
For management studies admissions the candidates should have a valid valid NET/UGC/CAT/AIMA scores.
For computer science admissions the candidates should have a valid GATE / NET/ UGC / CSIR / NBHM scores.
Please note that that If the seats are not filled with a valid GATE / UGC / CSIR / NBHM / NET scores in Humanities and science departments, non GATE / UGC / CSIR / NBHM / NET candidates will also be considered for admission on non stipendary basis.

The candidates should have a 60% of marks or 6.5 CGPA (for OC / OBC) in the B.E./B.Tech. degree and a valid GATE SCORE in the appropriate subject.
But in case of SC/ST candidates the eligibility requirement is 55% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA of 6.0 and a valid GATE SCORE
