M.O.P. Vaishnav College for Women is an Autonomous College which was established in the year 1992 by M.O. Parthasarthy Aiyengar Charities. It is located on the heart of Chennai City. Brief History of TNAU

The first college for the field of Agriculture was started in the name 'Agricultural School' in Saidapet in Chennai. Then it was relocated to Coimbatore during 1906 and renamed as Agricultural College and Research Institute, Coimbatore and later during 1920 it was affiliated to Madras University and was very helpful to the State Agricultural Department by submitting the research products and till the end of the mid 20th Century i.e. till the arise of Agricultural College in Baptala, the Agricultural College and Research Institute was the only Agricultural College in South India. Then Agricultural College and Research Institute in Madurai was established in 1965. These two colleges (i.e.) Agricultural College and Research Institute in Coimbatore and Madurai led the evolution of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University(TNAU) during 1971.

Anna University Counselling Guidelines 2011

• All the students who qualified will defiantly receive individual communications to appear for Anna University Counselling 2011.

• All the candidates will be called for counselling in the order of their merit. The candidates are allowed to choose the desired branch based on the seats availability and reservation.

• Candidates have a option to opt for colleges and branches they want. But remember this is purely based on the available of seats at the time. Then the allotment to the branch/college chosen by the candidate will be made.

• At the time of counseling verification of marks of the candidate will be done. So, the candidates are required to appear counseling with their original certificates.

• The candidate is required to attend the the counselling with the new marks and rand. This is applied only to the candidates who got re-totalling /revaluation of mark

• If the candidate do not have original certificates, he/she should bring a letter from the concerned Head of the institution stating that his orginal certificates are deposited in their institutions. In that case only, attested xerox copies of certificates will be accepted for verification.

• If the candidate could not attend the Anna University counselling 2011 on the specified date, he/she can attend any subsequent time/date, during the counselling period. But, remember he can only opt for the seats available at that time. He may get the branch/institution he desired.

Government Colleges for B. Sc Information Technology

B. Sc in Information Technology is a very good option for students, who wish to kick-start their career in the booming Information Technology industry. For applying to the B. Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission (TNEA) 2012

Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission test is conducted to admit students for various engineering courses in colleges coming under Anna University. The exam is conducted across various centers in Tamil Nadu.

Structure and Syllabus

The entrance test is been divided into two sections. Part A consists of Mathematics. This part carries 100 marks. Part B will cover Physics and Chemistry. This section also carries 100 marks. The syllabus is more or less same as that of NCERT test. The latest structure of the exam has not been announced yet.

Eligibility Criteria

1.Candidates should have passed plus two or its equivalent with a minimum of 55% marks or more. The average marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics should not be less than the required percentage.

2.Candidates can also apply if they have qualified in any vocational subject with the required percentage.
Candidates belonging to SC or ST can apply if they have attained a pass mark

3.Those belonging to MBC and DNC are eligible to apply only if they have scored 40% or above.

4.Those who are from backward classes can apply only if they have got 45% or above.

How to Apply?

Candidates can purchase the form from the designated center by paying Rs 500/- for general category and Rs 250/- for other classes. It can be paid by cash or through Demand Draft.

Candidates can also buy the form through post. They need to send a request for the application form to the designated office. They also need to enclose a Demand Draft of Rs 700/- for those belonging to general and Rs 450/- fro those belonging to SC or ST.

Candidates can also choose the online method. A detailed instruction to fill the form is given on the official website.

How to fill the Form?

The form has got two parts: the application form and coding sheet. Instructions to fill the forms are given in the Booklet. Candidates are requested to refer to the booklet while filling the form. The register number and the name of the course should be marked neatly and correctly. They should go through all the columns and answer them correctly. All the other important documents such as 10th mark sheet, plus two certificates, community certificates etc should be enclosed properly. Candidates will not be allowed to submit them later. They will also not be allowed to make any changes in the application form. The form should be addressed to the officer in charge at the university.
