M.O.P. Vaishnav College for Women is an Autonomous College which was established in the year 1992 by M.O. Parthasarthy Aiyengar Charities. It is located on the heart of Chennai City. It is the first self financing college to be accredited in the University. It is accredited at four star level by NAAC. M.O.P. Vaishnav College for Women is the first college in the country for getting Licence by the Government of India for launching up of Community Radio with a frequency of 107.8 MHz. The college also publishes a Newspaper exclusively for younger generation called "The MOP Yuvashakthi" .
