Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission test is conducted to admit students for various engineering courses in colleges coming under Anna University. The exam is conducted across various centers in Tamil Nadu.
Structure and Syllabus
The entrance test is been divided into two sections. Part A consists of Mathematics. This part carries 100 marks. Part B will cover Physics and Chemistry. This section also carries 100 marks. The syllabus is more or less same as that of NCERT test. The latest structure of the exam has not been announced yet.
Eligibility Criteria
1.Candidates should have passed plus two or its equivalent with a minimum of 55% marks or more. The average marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics should not be less than the required percentage.
2.Candidates can also apply if they have qualified in any vocational subject with the required percentage.
Candidates belonging to SC or ST can apply if they have attained a pass mark
3.Those belonging to MBC and DNC are eligible to apply only if they have scored 40% or above.
4.Those who are from backward classes can apply only if they have got 45% or above.
How to Apply?
Candidates can purchase the form from the designated center by paying Rs 500/- for general category and Rs 250/- for other classes. It can be paid by cash or through Demand Draft.
Candidates can also buy the form through post. They need to send a request for the application form to the designated office. They also need to enclose a Demand Draft of Rs 700/- for those belonging to general and Rs 450/- fro those belonging to SC or ST.
Candidates can also choose the online method. A detailed instruction to fill the form is given on the official website.

The register number and the name of the course should be marked neatly and correctly. They should go through all the columns and answer them correctly. All the other important documents such as 10th mark sheet, plus two certificates, community certificates etc should be enclosed properly. Candidates will not be allowed to submit them later. They will also not be allowed to make any changes in the application form. The form should be addressed to the officer in charge at the university.
