Tamil Nadu Agricultural University(TNAU) located at a pleasant greenish environment in the Coimbatore,the Manchester of South India. It is located at the outskirts of Coimbatore enroute to the amazing Maruthamalai Hills and is located exactly near Government College of Technology. TNAU is providing is best in the field of educating students in Agriculture,Horticulture and other fields with the vast resources they have. It has about 11 affiliated Educational Institutions under Tamil Nadu Agricultural University<.
Brief History of TNAU
The first college for the field of Agriculture was started in the name 'Agricultural School' in Saidapet in Chennai. Then it was relocated to Coimbatore during 1906 and renamed as Agricultural College and Research Institute, Coimbatore and later during 1920 it was affiliated to Madras University and was very helpful to the State Agricultural Department by submitting the research products and till the end of the mid 20th Century i.e. till the arise of Agricultural College in Baptala, the Agricultural College and Research Institute was the only Agricultural College in South India. Then Agricultural College and Research Institute in Madurai was established in 1965. These two colleges (i.e.) Agricultural College and Research Institute in Coimbatore and Madurai led the evolution of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University(TNAU) during 1971.

Dual Degree Programme in Tamil Nadu Agricultural University
• For the sake of training Students for abroad education and for imparting good knowledge to the students there are Dual programmes in Tamil Nadu Agricultural University(TNAU) for the UnderGraduate and Post Graduate Courses.
For Under Graduate Students
As a student at TNAU for the Dual degree course he/she will be made to study under the Nova Scotia Agricultural College,Canada for 3 Semesters and the 6 Semesters in TNAU. At last the students will be awarded with 2 degrees viz., 1 degree for B.Tech(Environmental Horticlture) from NSAC and the other one degree from TNAU for the course he/she has selected during Admission. This system serves as a good thing for the students to get knowledge and abroad based mind setup. Additionally they will also get the international training cum work based Educational System.
For Post Graduates
The School of Post Graduate Studies(SPGS) is offering rigorous training and guidance for the students who have registered for the TOEFL and GRE for the TNAU-Cornell Dual degree MPS (Master of Professional Studies) programme. They are also guiding the students in Drafting the Statement Of Purpose to move abroad and Visa Counselling are also being conducted.
