Acharya Girish Chandra Bose College was previously called as Bangabasi College of Commerce and the college is affiliated to the University of Calcutta located in the state of West Bengal. The college was established with its name as Bangbasi College by the Late Acharya Girish Chandra Bose in the year 1887 with the main objective of promotion of the cause of education in Bengal during the 19th century renaissance in the nation.
