The Madura College is a 120-year old institution that came into existence way back in the year 1889 and it is presently an autonomous institution affiliated to the Madurai Kamaraj University. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council have approved the institution with A Grade Status.

Eligibility requirements:
Any student, who has completed his/her higher secondary examination from the Tamil Nadu Higher Education is eligible to apply to the UG courses offered by the Madura College. However, candidates with the following qualifications will have to obtain eligibility certificate from the Madurai Kamaraj University:
• Degree (UG or PG) from any other university
• Higher secondary or equivalent board examination conducted by the any other state board other than Tamil Nadu
• Private candidates from CBSE under open school system
• Higher secondary examination under private study from Government of Tamil Nadu
Admission:
Admission of students to the different courses offered by the university are done after due scrutiny of application and other required documents. A student once enrolled for a course is expected to complete the same and he/she cannot withdraw without informing the Principal in writing about the withdrawal. Otherwise, he/she will have to pay fees till the name remains on the rolls.
College Library:
Library at the Madura College has a vast collection of books and students are permitted access to the library collection and they are also permitted to access dailies, magazines and journals to enable them to earn up-to-date knowledge.
