Auxilium College came into existence in the year 1954 and the college was initially affiliated to the University of Madras. The college holds the pride of being the first women’s college to be established in the district of Vellore in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. From the year 2003, the college came under the jurisdiction of Thirvalluvar University. In the same year 2003, the college also earned accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council with A+ Grade status and an institutional score of 90 to 95%.

Eligibility requirement:
Eligibility requirement for admission to the UG courses offered by the Auxilium College is a pass in higher secondary with minimum 40% of marks. For PG courses, a pass in UG degree with at least 40% of marks is required and for Master of Philosophy courses, a pass in the PG degree in appropriate discipline with not less than 55% of marks is required.
Admissions:
The principal of the Auxilium College takes care of the process of admission according to the reservation rules. The admission committee in the institution comprises of heads of all the departments functioning in the college and these HODs are responsible for scrutinizing of applications of candidates applying for their appropriate departments. Admission is done purely on merit bases following the reservation rules published by the Government of Tamil Nadu from time to time.
Reservation:
Even though, the reservation criteria will be according to the norms issued by the Government, the general practice followed by the college is 31% of seats for open category candidates, 30% for BC including 3.5% for Muslims and 3.5% for Christians, 20% is for MBC and BC candidates, 18% is for SC candidates and 1% is for ST candidates.
